Week 10: Last Week: Ever Remembering Experience

How fast time go on! 

Throughout the course, I have learned so many things about the use of technology in the classroom. I am very much glad, with my tutor Robert and Oregon University for providing me such kind of new avenues for changing my professional life and leadership. It was first experience in my life. In the context of Nepal, particularly, remote areas teaching learning is basically centered on textbook. It is very much difficult to introduce technology in the classroom. However, situation has been changing better day by day.

I learned many this regarding the use of technology in the field of education. I am happy with my students since they are using technology in getting information related with different topic. Before this course, I did not know much about the practical ideas of using technology in my classroom. Now, this web skill course has changed my horizon of thinking.

In this week,  I have submitted the project work. I learned different ideas about computer or Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL). In this week, I learned about multiple intelligence and use of web tools in language learning.

While reading about Multiple Intelligence Model, I got the useful ideas while going through the reading material about Gardner’s writing. He talks about the multiple intelligence.  Yes, students learning ability will certainly be varied because of have different level. For this, in my experience, use of technology is main aspect.  Use of different web tools for teaching different language skills and aspect (grammar and vocabulary) helps to make the learner more autonomous and self-directed towards learning procedures. Use of technology is significant way to measure students’ learning achievement by arousing the interest in the lesson to be taught.  There are different levels of students in the classroom. They learn differently because of having multiple intelligences.  For example kinesthetic learners learn by working with objects, likewise, they have good sense of balance and enjoy physical movement. 

Regarding my project, this course has given me lots of input for developing different kind of tools. As far as my experience from this course, students are very much proactive in learning since they are enthusiastic regarding the use of the computer and technology. Using technology in my classroom is difficult and challenging task. It is because we all teacher in my school are following the traditional kind of teaching and learning styles as teacher centered teaching methods, and drilling technique. The use of technological devices has made my classroom much more fun oriented. Textbook is not only the medium of instruction, that is to say, the use of technology related materials and teaching techniques energized my learner to exchange ideas with the people who speak or write English. Teaching learning is to be carried out based on communication and interactive environment. By the result, students develop a kind of confidence and self-reliance to speak in English in terms of different situations. For this purpose, the use of technology is most. 

Last but not the least, I am very much glad with our instructor Robert and dear all classmates.

PRECIOUS WEEK

Week 8: Wonderful Week: Glimpse

This week has done so much for me to make for making my classroom modern and innovative. I have built up confidence that I can make my learner smart and more critical, and autonomous as a whole.  I realized that language teaching is not possible without the use of computer and technology. Undoubtedly, there is immense value of web tools while teaching and learning language. 

I did not know much more about the use of technology and web tools   and the ideas of using them in the classroom more practically. There are many challenges to implement the project in the classroom since school management committee have not managed the computer for English the students. However, the use of laptop has helped me to motivate the learners. 

I this week I have made one class in Nice-net,The class key is 4W33H9F2, this will be helpful for discussion. 

I am was confused to use ANVILL, and later I got the useful ideas of this virtual lab. 

Now, I would like to discuss my project here: I am right busy in checking the project of my peer. This is very much productive task  

I would like to focus on my project,teaching and learning has been tradition methods such as grammar translation. "Look and remember" with the help of bilingual dictionary, as I see now, seemed to be not very effective for the learners of English language. 

I realized that communication in English is one of the most important skills for engineering students and will help them to find the job in the future. I found that technology is very crucial for developing speaking skills. I used different types web-tools 

I found that students would like to speak but they felt they lacked confidence in speaking. By the result, they think that English is very difficult for them and they become bored with learning the skills. For the purpose of motivating students towards communication, the use of different communicative activities (by using different websites and technology) in the classroom is important in the EFL classroom.

I do love teaching since it is my passion, I myself fell that I am born for teaching. This is my initial phase for developing professionalism in the field of language pedagogy. Last, but not the least,  I am learning day by day  new ideas throght the use of new technology as suggested by Robert and dear all colleagues  who has been  providing precious information. I am working very hard on my project. It is challenging sometimes, I am enjoying.

WEEK SEVEN: GLIMPSE

This week has been wonderful week for me since I learned different useful ideas regarding my ongoing project work,concept and usefulness of leaner autonomy and use of computer in the classroom. Moreover, the I like the ideas of Wallwisher/ Padlet. Now, I would like to reflect on this topic:

Project Work:

I am enjoying to my project work very much and I am facing some challenges  while implementing project in my classroom. I would like to thank tutor Robert and you all for you suggestion and motivation. My project title   is Encouraging Students towards communication. I mutilating different tools in my classroom with the help of my own laptop. I already gave instruction and idea of creating blog to my students.They are very much interested in learning. I found them they are happy with their learning.

Learner Autonomy:

I have gone through article entitled "What is Learner Autonomy and How Can It Be Fostered?" by Dimitrios Thanasoulas, and got the very practical ideas about teaching and learning by making my classroom autonomous with the help of technology.  This kind of technique will be helpful for making the learner more ciritical and independent,by the result, student can carry out task with our any hesitation. I am very much delighted  and happy because this will help for my student so that they can communicate effectively  and efficiently as well. In my classroom, my students is weak in speaking and it is due to lack of exposure of English. In my context, learners' autonomy is important, because it will help for increasing their knowledge and skills. It is useful to be self reliant language learners and to be able to communicate in terms of real life situation. Use of technology is must in the classroom so that learners will be motivated, a good users of target language both in classroom and daily life situation as well.

Wallwisher:
